Well hello there!
Thanks very much for stopping by. At the moment this Yamaha Piano guide is not particular comprehensive but I have plans to branch it out into a more informative resource.
I have decided to focus this first version of my Yamaha Piano guide on the infamous loop cords on the Yamaha U3 upright piano. Many people don't really know what the loop cords are but when the Yamaha U3 was made, it was given some loop cords that could have been slightly stronger. As a result, after about 25-30 years the loop cords can start to snap. This causes the action to be much less responsive than it should be and so the issue should be addressed straight away.
If you come across a piano dealer who is selling a Yamaha U3 of about that the above age, always always always ask him to dismantle the action (very easy to do) and show you specifically that all of the loop cords are brand new. Otherwise you are going to get yourself into some expensive bother a little bit further down the line. So remember to always insist on seeing the loop cords before handing over any money.
I have written some helpful information regarding this and I will now show you the links so you can read them
I would like to disclose that I run a piano shop in Royton, Lancashire and I do actually stock the Yamaha U3 piano. Please feel welcome to come along and play my pianos. I often stock about 8 U3s
Here is the information that I mentioned earlier. Please see my Yamaha U3 hints & tips page and also my Yamaha U1 section. I also suggest that you have a gander at my Yamaha Piano sales page for the latest stocklist. Lastly, if you want something a little different, please see my complete list of Pianos For Sale page.

Please let me know if I can help at all
